What Is a PDO Threads?
A PDO Thread Lift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to lift and tighten sagging skin, providing a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.
During the procedure, fine threads made of PDO (polydioxanone) material are strategically inserted into the skin, acting as a supportive structure to lift and reposition facial tissues.
These threads stimulate collagen production, enhancing skin elasticity and firmness over time. The PDO threads gradually dissolve within the skin, leaving behind a framework of collagen that continues to improve skin texture and tone.
This innovative treatment is suitable for individuals seeking a non-surgical solution to address mild to moderate signs of aging in various facial areas.
What Are the Benefits of PDO Thread Lift?
PDO Thread Lifting offers a wide array of benefits for those seeking non-invasive facial rejuvenation.

How Does the PDO Thread Work?
The PDO Thread works through a meticulous process that harnesses the power of fine threads made of PDO (polydioxanone) material.
These threads, delicately inserted into the skin by skilled professionals, serve as a supportive structure that lifts and repositions sagging skin, ultimately restoring a more youthful appearance.
Simultaneously, the PDO threads stimulate the production of collagen, a crucial protein responsible for skin elasticity and firmness.
As depicted in the following table, PDO threads come in various types, each catering to specific treatment needs and goals:
Type of PDO Thread | Purpose |
---|---|
Smooth Threads | Improve skin texture and promote collagen production |
Barbed Threads | Lift and reposition sagging skin |
Screw Threads | Enhance volume and contour facial features |
The PDO threads gradually dissolve within the skin, leaving behind a framework of collagen.
This process contributes to ongoing improvements in skin texture and tone, ensuring long-lasting rejuvenation effects.
By avoiding invasive surgery, PDO Thread offers a safe and effective alternative for individuals seeking natural-looking facial rejuvenation.
Here are key points to understand how PDO Thread works:
- Delicate insertion of PDO threads lifts and repositions sagging skin.
- Collagen stimulation enhances skin elasticity and firmness.
- Various types of PDO threads cater to specific treatment needs.
- Gradual dissolution of PDO threads leaves behind a framework of collagen.

How long will a PDO thread lift last?
A PDO thread lift typically lasts between 12 to 18 months, but the collagen stimulation they induce helps maintain the lift and improve skin texture for several more months. Individual results may vary based on factors like age, skin type, and lifestyle.
Is a PDO thread lift worth it?
A PDO thread lift can be worth it for those seeking a minimally invasive way to lift and tighten sagging skin. It offers immediate results with minimal downtime and stimulates collagen production for longer-lasting effects. Individual satisfaction depends on expectations and desired outcomes.
How painful is PDO thread lift?
A PDO thread lift is generally well-tolerated with minimal pain. Local anesthesia is used to numb the treatment area, reducing discomfort during the procedure. Pain levels vary by individual, but most find it manageable and temporary.
What is the best age for PDO threads?
The best age for a PDO thread lift is typically between 30 and 65 years old.
